Many pet owners, at one point or another, are faced with unexpected veterinary bills. Veterinary medicine has progressed so far that now pet owners have new and sometimes expensive options for the care of their ailing pets. Although the cost of veterinary care is actually very reasonable in comparison with the much higher cost of human health care, an unexpected medical emergency can present a major financial dilemma for an unprepared pet owner.
The expense of veterinary care needs to be planned on and prepared for when you first bring your dane home. Check with your Veterinarian to see if they accept payment plans in the event of catastrophic costs related to an injury or illness. If they don't, ask if they offer credit through CareCredit. If they are a provider of CareCredit, you can apply for it online here. If your preferred Veterinarian doesn't use CareCredit, you can ask them to consider becoming a provider and then refer them or their practice online here
If you find yourself in a stituation where your dane is diagnosed with a medical problem such as cancer or another life threatening illness, or where high cost surgery and treatment is required to save your danes life, you may be able to obtain some financial assistance from various sources. We have listed a few of those sources below.
